Significant Event

From July 30th to August 21st, you can enjoy one of the most significant trademarks of Gdansk – St. Dominic’s Fair. This huge event takes place at Main City of Gdansk. All around the streets you may see hundreds of stalls offering a variety of goods – from amber and jewelry, through hand-made goods, traditional food to antiques as well as collectibles.

Origins

The fair was established by Pope Alexander 4th in 1260 and was organized yearly ever since. It is now 756th edition of the event, which reminds us how important Gdansk was during it’s early days as it comes to trade value and port – at that time Gdansk had a position of the largest and the richest city in Poland.
