How to spend the weekend in Tricity? – It is a series of articles on Tricity News. We publish information about upcoming events for each weekend. From a great variety of different events happening in the area every week, we are choosing those which in our opinion are the most interesting and English-friendly. Here are our ideas for the second weekend of April.
Whole weekend
Due to Easter, the shops will work differently this weekend, so make sure to do your shopping in advance. On Saturday the shops will close much earlier and on Sunday most of them will not open at all.
A classic music festival Actus Humanus takes place until Sunday in Gdansk. More information on the festival as well as the tickets are available at the official website.
The original anatomy exhibition is open in the Metropolia mall. Body Worlds is a set of exhibits presenting the details of human anatomy by professor Gunther von Hagens. The tickets cost from 45 PLN to 65 PLN and are available both online and at the entrance to the exhibition.
There is still a possibility to enjoy guided tours around the Shakespeare Theatre in Gdansk. The tours are both in Polish and English and take 60 minutes. Tickets are available online as well as in ticket offices of the theatre.
Saturday
Running enthusiasts may join one of three Parkrun events on Saturday at 9:00 am. The runs will take place in Regan’s Park and near Swietokrzyska reservoir in Gdansk as well as at the Seaside Boulevard in Gdynia.
Sport
Trefl Sopot will face King Szczecin on Saturday at 5 pm in Ergo Arena. The basketball players from Tricity will be fighting for staying at the highest level of competition, so it’s important they will get proper support. Tickets are available at the entrance to the stadium as well as through the official website of the club.
Lechia Gdansk continues the march for the championship. In the first round of the final part of the season, they will face Piast Gliwice at home. The game will take place on Saturday at 3:30 pm at Energa Gdansk Stadium. White and Greens need support to reach the championship this season! Tickets in prices between 15 to 65 PLN are available at the stadium as well as on the official website of the club. You can also purchase the tickets for the game at one of Lechia stalls in malls around the city.
