After a very good season 2016, Seahawks Gdynia ended up the season being defeated by one team only – Panthers Wrocław. This loss was costly though, as Seahawks had to give out their championship to Panthers. Summer was not only a time of rest, but also of hard work for the management of Seahawks. The whole team is doing their best to prepare for the upcoming season.
Seahawks are recruiting
On the 7th of October, Seahawks organized a recruitment evening, during which 40 candidates gathered to get a place in one of the main teams. Among gathered, were many already experienced athletes and some made a long journey to arrive at the recruitment evening.
This was not the only possibility to be a part of Seahawks, though. Each person, who would like to take part in trainings, is warmly welcomed to contact the club.
Support from other countries
Polish teams playing American Football are very attractive for foreign players, as they have many possibilities to play and develop. Seahawks Gdynia is in process of international negotiations this year as well. The Head Coach of Seahawks Gdynia, Maciej Cetnerowski informed us, that there are plans to sign up 2 foreign professional players and 2 foreign coaches. The names are kept in secret, but we will be informed about all new signings.
The new season
Polish American Football League (PLFA) is planning the start of the 2017 season on the last weekend of March. The full schedule of games will be published in January 2017. For this season, Seahawks have important plans. Maciej Cetnerowski confirmed, that as always, Seahawks want to reach the highest aims in the league. The management of the club is also planning a surprise for the fans, about which we will be informed once everything will be certain.
