Seahawks Gdynia hosted Warsaw Sharks at their stadium in Gdynia on Saturday. The Seahawks flew high in this game winning with Sharks 41:0. A very good performance of both offensive and defensive formation shows that the team is in a high form.
Definite favorites
Seahawks Gdynia were favorites in the match against the team from Warsaw. They proved their domination from the very beginning of the match. The team from Tricity entered the field with a huge motivation and confidence. As a result they surprised the opponents early opening the score in the first moments of the match. The offense rushed to 10th yard and shortly after Jan Domagala could show his running skills. The running back smoothly cut through Sharks’ defense and 6:0 appeared at the score board. Good PAT from Portalski and the Seahawks were leading by 7 points.
Seahawks’ defense played very well not allowing Sharks to get close to the end-zone. Thanks to such performance, the offense could quickly come back on the field. Jan Domagala was definitely a very strong part of the offensive formation. It was Jakub Mazan however who got the ball to score the second touchdown of the match. Bradley sent a very good over 30 yard long pass which Jakub caught in the end-zone. After another good PAT from Portalski the fans could celebrate 14:0.
Second quarter
In the second part of the match Seahawks pressed even more. Jan Domagala performed one more great run into the end-zone. Shortly after, Joey Bradley passed a 20 yard throw to Pawel Fabich. The Tight End rushed with a ball for 30 yards and scored the fourth touchdown for Seahawks Gdynia.
Towards the end of the quarter Jakub Mazan underlined the domination of the team from Gdynia. Together with Joey Bradley they copied their situation from the first half. A good 30 yard pass landed in Mazan’s hands again. As Portalski didn’t miss any PAT, the team ended the first half seeing 35:0 on the score board.
Second half
During the second half coach Maciej Cetnerowski allowed substitutes to play. The team continued to dominate and to control the game. One of the substitutes – Milosz Goralski performed a great over 40 yards long run into the end-zone. The Sharks managed to block, but they were loosing by 41 points.
Fourth quarter
In the last part of the match Mateusz Kroć replaced Joey Bradley on Quarterback’s position. The result didn’t change until the end of the match and the Seahawks were still controling the match.
The players from Tricity definitely fulfilled their plan for the match. They won comfortably, dominated the opponent and allowed the coach to rotate the squad. As a result, the young ones could gain a very important experience.
Upcoming games
Next two matches Seahawks Gdynia will play away. First they will travel to Wroclaw to face Panthers on the 26th of May. Next, on the 3rd of June, the team will play against Tychy Falcons.
Seahawks’ final match of the main season will take place in Gdynia on the 16th of June. Seahawks Gdynia will host Lowlanders Bialystok.
Before that, on the 9th of June Seahawks Gdynia will play in the final of CEFL cup. The team has a big opportunity to bring an international trophy to Tricity.
