The last round of Lotto Ekstraklasa in 2016 didn’t start well for Tricity. Lechia lost their match in Kielce 2:0. This painful loss does not bear though serious consequences to their position in the table.

Determination for the away game

All players of Lechia know well that they need to keep the pace competing for the leadership in the table with Jagiellonia Białystok. Every possible loss can lead to a point gap which may be hard to cover. That’s why the players were very motivated before today’s game against Korona Kielce.

Both teams started by creating some chances to gain the early lead in the match. Both  teams kept on creating opportunities during the first half, but it was Korona, which started to dominate toward the break.

Second half for Korona

Korona started with pressure from the very beginning of the second half creating the opportunity to score just 2 minutes after the break. In 61st minute Jacek Kiełb from Korona Kielce underlined the domination of the team by scoring the first goal.

Coach Nowak made some changes in the squad to break the domination of the hosts, but it didn’t succeed. White&Green’s created a few attempts, but it wasn’t enough to change the picture of the game. The second goal of the game was scored by Jacek Kiełb in 90th minute. The match was viewed by 4354 supporters.

No consequences in the table

Even though Lechia lost painfully their match in Kielce, the situation in the table didn’t change. Jagiellonia Białystok lost their match as well, so it is still at the first place having the same amount of points as Lechia, which is second.

Gdynia plays on Sunday

Tomorrow Arka Gdynia is playing away against their long-time rivals Śląsk Wrocław. If they succeed, they can jump on the 9th place in the table. If not, the team from Gdynia will fall at least one place down.
