Lechia Gdansk strengthens leading

In Gdansk, Sport

Monday ended with the last match of the 17th round of Lotto Ekstraklasa. This last match was played in Gdansk between Lechia Gdansk and Górnik Łęczna. The team from Gdansk won 3:0 and strengthened it’s leading in the table.

Strong despite problems

Lechia is currently suffering some problems within the starting 11. Simeon Sławczew is injured, Jakub Wawrzyniak and Flavio Paixao are pausing due to the amount of cards received. Those problems affect the game for sure, but fortunately they didn’t prevent Lechia from gaining next 3 points in the league.

Calm beginning

Even though Lechia was a clear favorite in the game, the players didn’t start too offensively. For the first 25 minutes of the game the domination wasn’t clear and both teams were creating some situations which didn’t result with goals.

In 25th minute Marco Paixao scored the first goal for Lechia and from that moment the game looked differently. The team opened and started to create situations which may have resulted in more goals.

Even again

At the beginning of the second half Lechia continued to play offensively and created a couple of situations. Lack of more goals lowered team’s morale visibly and the game became even again. At that moment Górnik had some place to play, but it didn’t last long.

In 69th minute Wolski scored after a good situation created by Paixao and it was 2:0 for the team from Gdansk. This changed the atmosphere of the game completely and Lechia was ready to play comfortably until the end. They added one more goal in 86th minute which was scored by a substitute – Haraslin.

Strong leader

Lechia Gdansk has now 36 points in the league, which is 3 more than the second team – Jagiellonia Białystok. It is also 16 points more than the other team from Tricity – Arka Gdynia.

Winning in Gdansk Lechia won their 11th game in this season scoring 28 goals in total.
