Lechia Gdansk are the new leaders of Ekstraklasa. They benefited not only from a home win over Zaglebie Sosnowiec but also from draws by Korona Kielce, Jagiellonia Bialystok, and Piast Gliwice. Arka Gdynia won against the other Zaglebie and is now only two points from the top half of the table.

Lechia Gdansk – Zaglebie Sosnowiec

Gdansk’s team only needed eight minutes to get the advantage over the last team in the table. After a pass by Joao Nunes, Michalak made a first attempt that was rebounded by Zaglebie’s defense. Lipski, however, shot with an excellent ball control giving his team the 1:0.

In the 23rd minute though, Lechia’s defense failed again allowing for Zaglebie’s goal. Pawloski served Wrzesinski who passed the ball quickly to the unmarked Sanogo. French striker shot to the left side out of the reach for Alomerovic and made the draw.

Eight minutes later, it was Tomasz Nowak who almost took a full advantage of Lechia’s soft defense. This time Alomerovic was quick enough to cover the right side of his goal though.

Lechia Gdansk played more aggressive in the last minutes of the first half and had two good chances for a goal. Kubicki shot a little wide in the 37th minute and just a minute later Haraslin was very near the goal. Perdijic performed a fantastic save though.

Home team reached the halftime with the advantage after Haraslin avoided three Zagliebie’s defenders. He noticed and served Kubicki for the 2:1. What a fantastic move by the Slovak midfielder!

Second half

Five minutes into the second half brought yet another goal for Lechia. Wrzesinski fouled Haraslin in the box. Flavio Paixao didn’t fail the penalty and extended the White and Greens’ lead even more.

Lechia was close to Zaglebie’s box for the next minutes and unsurprisingly reached the 4:1 in the 62nd minute. Kubicki outran Jedrych and served Lipski who avoided Jedrych once again and shot out of the reach for Perdijic.

Until the end, there was one more great chance for Lechia to score two minutes from time. Michalak shot for another great save by Perdijic after an excellent triangulation by Lechia’s players on the left side.

Lechia Gdansk is on top

Lechia Gdansk is again the leader of Ekstraklasa after a home victory by 4:1 over Zaglebie Sosnowiec. Korona Kielce and Jagiellonia drew 1:1 and Piast Gliwice got a 2:2 draw against Miedz Legnica as well. This allowed the team from Gdansk to gain the advantage in the table.

Arka Gdynia – Zaglebie Lubin

In Gdynia, Arka got close to the first half of Ekstraklasa table with a 3:1 win over Zaglebie Lubin, who currently are eighth in the championship. It was another good result for Gdynia’s team that left Arka two points from the first half of the table.

Lubin’s team was the first to score in the 12th minute. Tuszynski’s header forced Steinbors to a great save. Zaglebie didn’t quit from reaching the goal, and Tosik crossed again to Arka’s box. Matuszczyk served unmarked Balic who had no trouble scoring the first goal of the match.

Second half

After Janota failed for not for much in the 41st minute, Arka Gdynia took the control of the game in the second half. Tosik got a second yellow card in the 55th minute after an alleged foul over Jankowski outside the box. This situation motivated the Yellow & Blues to get more from the match.

Nalepa took the opportunity of the free kick after this foul. He gave no chance to the keeper Hladun with an extraordinary shot. 1:1 at the scoreboard gave hope for Arka’s recovery.

Even playing with 10 men, Zaglebie Lubin almost got the advantage again in three occasions in a row. In the 57th minute, Steinbors stopped a shot by Bohar to the corner and, on the very same corner kick, Arka’s keeper showed his skills again by stopping a header by Balic. During the second corner, Balic headed for an extraordinary save by Steinbors again. This time the keeper saved on the grass near the goal line.

In the 63rd minute, it was the time for keeper Hladun to shine as he saved a long-distance shot by Janota. He also saved the rebound by Nalepa, who had first served Janota for his shot.

Arka Gdynia would only get the advantage in the last ten minutes of the game with two goals by Jankowski. First, in the 81st minute, Zarandia assisted Jankowski for a shot without chances for Hladun. Already in the added time, unmarked Jankowski confirmed Arka’s win after Janota’s pass.
