In the final game of LFA9, Biale Lwy Gdansk had to face a defeat from Krakow Kings B. The game in Gdansk ended with a score 8:24. As a result, the team from Cracow became the champions of the development league. The hosts, Biale Lwy ended up with a silver medal.
An even start
Both teams started the match ambitiously. The defensive formations were performing especially well. Though the first half of the match was full of emotions, it ended with a pointless draw. The team from Cracow, however, started to dominate towards the end of the second quarter of the match.
Kings dominated Lions
Right after a half-time, the guests scored their first points of the match. Lukasz Paczek received a short pass from Mateusz Wiechec and ran for 58 yards to get the first touchdown of the game. The Kings decided to go all in scoring another two points in PAT and they were leading 0:8. The hosts didn’t want to accept this situation and they fought hard. The Kings stopped their efforts with an interception though. This good defensive performance led to yet another touchdown by the Kings. Guests’ QB decided to take an individual effort and he delivered the ball into the end-zone. Soon the hosts saw 0:16 at the scoreboard which definitely wasn’t according to their plans.
The Lions didn’t want to give up so easily, but they were making too many mistakes in their play. The Kings used every opportunity and kept on scoring. After yet another interception, they added next 8 points to the score. With just two minutes of time, the Lions had almost no chance to win the game. They did, however, manage to score an honor touchdown with a running PAT. In the end, the match finished with a score 8:24.
Silver White Lions
With this result, the team from Gdansk finished the season at the second place of the development league. Krakow Kings B became champions coming back home with a cup and gold medals on their chests. The representatives of Tricity suffered loss, but the silver medals are still a good achievement for the team.
A great season
Despite losing the final, Biale Lwy Gdansk had a great season. From the very start, they showed that they wanted to fight for the highest goals. They proved their good preparation by winning all matches in the group stage of LFA9. Their performance also resulted in going through semi-finals comfortably.
Biale Lwy Gdansk have definitely gained many fans thanks to their play during this season of LFA9. They have grown to become the second American football force in Tricity. We hope that we will see them at the highest level of the league together with Seahawks Gdynia soon.
