After a nervous match, Arka Gdynia SSA drew with Lechia Gdańsk 1:1 in the derby match.

Arka began the match with an offensive attitude which resulted in a few good situations to score a goal. In 6th minute Marcus Vinicius tried to surprise Lechia’s goalkeeper but Vanja Milinković-Savić caught the ball. Few moments later Szwoch had his chance to score a goal, but he missed. But the best situation had Sołdecki but after a nice pass from Abbot he also missed. Lechia responded very quickly to Arka’s attacks and Marco Paixão scored his 5th goal for Lechia this season. With time Lechia got more confident and their advantage was undeniable.

Second half for Arka Gdynia

In the second half Marco Paixao had another chance to score a goal but this time Jałocha caught the ball. It seemed Arka would have huge problems to break through Lechia’s defense. In 76th minute Adrian Błąd became a new hero for fans from Gdynia as he scored a goal for Arka. Few minutes later stadium in Gdynia went crazy again as Paweł Abbott scored the second goal for Arka, but the referee was right to show an offside and the result was still 1:1. In 85th minute Flavio Paixao saw a red card after a foul against Arka’s defender Krzysztof Sobieraj.

Match full of emotions

This match was full of emotions especially for over 14 000 fans gathered at Gdynia’s stadium. The 1:1 draw is a fair result for both teams. Arka is now on the 7th place in Eksraklasa and Lechia is still the leader.

Next round Arka is playing in Płock against SPR Wisła Płock on 4th of November and one day later Lechia is playing in Gdańsk against Pogoń Szczecin.
