The independence day is in Poland widely connected with colorful parades. It wasn’t different in Tricity today. Though first bigger snow appeared, many people participated in parades which went through Tricity today.
Gdansk
The parade in Gdansk started to form around 9:00 am to open the celebration of the Independence day in Tricity at 10:00. Hundreds of people dressed up in historical costumes connected with history of Poland. National army, schools and non-governmental organizations took part in parade to commemorate the Independence Day in Gdansk. An audience of thousand of citizens of Gdansk gathered to watch the parade and take part in celebration.
Gdynia
The second parade was organized in Gdynia. The parade formed itself near the main train station and marched to Kościuszki square. Traditionally the parade was lead by Marshall Piłsudski’s lookalike. Colorful parade contained reconstruction groups, actors, schools, military forces and many organizations connected with Gdynia.
Sopot
Tricity parades connected with the Independence day were ended in Sopot, where classic cars and bikes traveled through the city decorated in Polish flags.
Additional attraction for the Independence Day was the Independence Run organized in Gdynia after the parade. Apart from parades, citizens of Tricity could enjoy variety of additional events connected with the Independence Day.
