How to spend the weekend in Tricity? – It is a series of articles on Tricity News. We publish information about upcoming events for each weekend. From a great variety of different events happening in the area every week, we are choosing those which in our opinion are the most interesting and English-friendly. Here are our ideas for the second weekend of April.
Whole weekend
Runners in Gdansk will enjoy sport feast as the fifth Gdansk Marathon takes over the streets of the city this weekend. The main venue of most of the events surrounding the marathon is the area surrounding Amber Expo. Gdansk Marathon will reach its pinnacle on Sunday. The main marathon will go through Grunwaldzka street through the city center, Wrzeszcz, Zaspa, Przymorze, Oliwa to Zabianka reaching Ergo Arena. The route will later lead through Jelitkowo, Regan’s Park, and Brzezno to finish near Energa Stadium Gdansk. Click here for a full route map. The original anatomy exhibition is open in the Metropolia mall. Body Worlds is a set of exhibits presenting the details of human anatomy by professor Gunther von Hagens. The tickets cost from 45 PLN to 65 PLN and are available both online and at the entrance to the exhibition.
There is still a possibility to enjoy guided tours around the Shakespeare Theatre in Gdansk. The tours are both in Polish and English and take 60 minutes. Tickets are available online as well as in ticket offices of the theatre.
Friday
Wydzial Remontowy club in Gdansk invites for a Tribute to Jimi Hendrix concert. All fans of the great artist will enjoy visiting the club on Friday at 8:30 pm. Tickets cost 20 PLN and are available at the entrance to the club.
Saturday
Estas Tonne – a talented guitarist mixing Flamenco techniques with Gypsy origins and electronic sounds. The incredible diversity of his music stays as an experience to remember for long. His concert: Integration, will take place on Saturday at 7:00 pm in the Baltic Philharmonic. The tickets in prices from 89 to 235 PLN are available online.
Shakespeare’s Theatre invites for a concert of ethnic music by Laboratorium Piesni (Song Laboratory). The event promotes the newest album of the band – Rasti. Tickets in prices 40 and 45 PLN are available online through the official website of the theatre.
Sport
Our friends – Seahawks Gdynia invite for the third game of the 2019 season of American Football League. The team from Tricity will face Warsaw Mets on Sunday at noon at the National Rugby Stadium in Gdynia.
On Saturday at 12:40 at Ergo Arena Trefl Sopot will host BM Slam Stal Ostrow Wielkopolski. Basketball fans can purchase their tickets at the entrance to the stadium as well as through the official website of the club.
The last round of the main season of Lotto Ekstraklasa will come to Gdynia this weekend. Arka Gdynia will host Miedz Legnica in a game which may give fans more hopes for competing at the highest level also in the next season.
Basketball fans will enjoy one more game during the weekend. On Sunday at 12:40, Arka Gdynia will face King Szczecin. The game will take place at Gdynia Arena and the tickets for the game in prices from 5 to 25 PLN are available at the entrance to the venue as well as online.
