How to spend the weekend in Tricity? – It is a series of articles on Tricity News. We publish information about upcoming events for each weekend. From a great variety of different events happening in the area every week, we are choosing those which in our opinion are the most interesting and English-friendly. Here are our ideas for the first weekend of April.
Whole Weekend
Traditionally, we would like to warmly invite you all to visit our friends from the Musical Theatre in Gdynia. This week, the theatre invites for “Ghost” – a musical which is played in theatres all over the globe.
Check the official website of the Musical Theatre for more information and tickets. There will be three shows during the weekend. On Friday and Saturday at 7:00 pm and on Sunday at 5:00 pm.
All those who are looking for ways of spending their free time can visit Amber Expo during the weekend. On Saturday and Sunday, they will enjoy Free Time Festival 2019. The event which gathers some 20 thousand visitors every week is an experience full of attractions. Find out more about the festival at the official Facebook event.
Fans of board games and more indoor activities will definitely enjoy visiting yet another festival. The 18th edition of “We Play Festival” will take place in Gdynia Arena also on Saturday and Sunday. The visitors will have an opportunity to get to know the latest trends in board games as well as try some new titles. Tickets cost from 10 to 20 PLN. Continuing the recent tradition of opening the backstage of theatres in Tricity, Wybrzeze Theatre opens their door this weekend. The tours will go every half an hour from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. The tickets cost 5 PLN and are available through the official website of the theatre.
The original anatomy exhibition is open in Metropolia mall. Body Worlds is a set of exhibits presenting the details of human anatomy by professor Gunther von Hagens. The tickets cost from 45 PLN to 65 PLN and are available both online and at the entrance to the exhibition.
Saturday
Together with our friends from The Blue Trail foundation we would like to invite for the annual event: Autism? It happens 😉
Emigrations Museum in Gdynia invites for Gdynia Language Swap event from 12:30 to 1:30 pm. The meeting is a good opportunity to get to know other foreigners living in Tricity, but also to learn some words in other languages.
Sport
Trefl Gdansk is playing the last home game of the season in Ergo Arena on Friday at 5:30 pm. The tickets in prices between 2 and 40 PLN are available at Ergo Arena or through the club’s website. We warmly invite all volleyball fans to join us for the game.
There will be only one match of Lotto Ekstraklasa in Tricity this weekend. On Saturday at 8:30 pm Lechia Gdansk hosts Lech Poznan. Tickets in prices between 15 to 65 PLN are available at the stadium as well as on the official website of the club. You can also purchase the tickets for the game at one of Lechia stalls in malls around the city.
Hockey fans will definitely enjoy Amber Cup – an international ice hockey cup which will take place in Olivia Hall on Saturday and Sunday. The event starts on Saturday at 10:30 and the admission is free. More info at the official Facebook site of the event.
