It was a friendly match in Gdynia and Arka’s first draw in LOTTO Ekstraklasa this season. Arka Gdynia SSA 1:1 Zagłębie Lubin S.A..
Tight competition
Arka from the very beginning was showing a lot of respect for Zagłębie. It didn’t end well as in 25th minute Marcjanik scored an own goal and guests from Lubin were leading 1:0.
One minute later Szwoch had a brilliant chance to make it a 1:1 draw, but unfortunately he missed. Arka kept trying and in 36th minute Warcholak was very close scoring a goal but Zagłębie’s goalkeeper was in a good shape tonight.
The second half was much more interesting to watch. In 50th minute Arka’s captain Miroslav Bozok scored a beautiful volley and it was 1:1. Both Arka and Zagłębie had their chances to score more goals but the final score didn’t change.
At the press conference after the match both coaches admited that the draw was a fair result. Coach Niciński was glad that his players managed to score a goal in the second half and get 1 point playing against such strong opponent.
Next game in Kielce
The next match Arka will play in Kielce against Korona Kielce on 10th of September. And on 19th of September Arka will play another friendly match in Gdynia, this time against Cracovia (piłka nożna). Will Gdynia still be the stronghold?
Lechia Gdańsk lost their game
Another football team from Tricity, Lechia Gdańsk had bad luck yesterday loosing with Bruk-Bet Termalica Nieciecza at the Energa Stadium in Gdansk (Stadion Energa Gdańsk).
Even though white and greens had all possible advantage in statistics, they managed to score only one goal at the end of the game. With one goal scored by Nieciecza in 33rd minute and another in 82nd, the team from Gdansk faced the loss of not the game only, but also their leadership in the league.

After 7 rounds, Arks Gdynia is 3rd in the league and Lechia Gdansk got position number 4.
