Sopot Film Festival

17th International Sopot Film Festival begins this Saturday! This year’s edition will last 9 days. Cinemas and studios will screen over 120 films from all around the world during this cultural event.

About the event

Three international film competitions – competition 1-2, for debuts and second feature films, the DOC competition – medium and full-length documentaries and also a short film competition – will feature in this year’s edition. It is worth mentioning that the event presents movies awarded at the most well-known film festivals in the world such as Cannes, Berlin, Venice, Rotterdam, Sundance and Toronto. Special guests and attractions

Sopot Film Festival is known not only for its numerous film shows but also other attractions. Every year there are many meetings with filmmakers, exhibitions, workshops, discussions and music events.

Guests of the Festival include Arkadiusz Jakubik, Katarzyna Herman, Aneta Kopacz, Piotr Dumała, Marcin Borchardt, Szczepan Twardoch, film critics Artur Zaborski and Łukasz Maciejewski. There will be Film Music Concert as well. A symphony string orchestra with invited soloists, DJs and VJs conducted by Krzesimir Debski will perform the concert on July 12th.

Details about tickets

Ticket price for single show costs 13 zł. However, you can buy pass for 5 or 10 films and it costs 55 or 100 zł. Although, short film screenings, shows at Dwie Zmiany and Trzy Siostry clubs are free. Film Music Concert costs about 35-55 zł. There is also silent movie concert for 20-25 zł.
