Seahawks Gdynia – Panthers Wroclaw

In the first round of the Polish League of American Football (PLFA), Seahawks Gdynia are playing against Panthers Wroclaw.

The derby of Poland

This game is dubbed the derby of Poland. Seahawks Gdynia and Panthers Wroclaw are currently the two biggest American Football teams in Poland. The tension around the game is even stronger due to the last final of the league. In 2016 Seahawks Gdynia ended the season losing only against Panthers. The painful loss of the Polish Championship was a big motivation for the team to prepare for the 2017 season.

Seahawks Gdynia are the most titled team in Poland. The team won the Polish Championship three times in its history (2012, 2014 and 2015). The three other times the Seahawks played in the final of the league coming in second place.

Panthers Wroclaw

The Panthers are probably the fastest developing team in Poland. In the last years they have become the biggest rivals of Seahawks Gdynia when it comes to the league. Panthers are also the first Polish team which won the IFAF Europe Champions League.
