Who’s excited for the most important film event in Poland? The 42nd edition of Gdynia Film Festival begins in 2 weeks!
About
It has been over 40 years since the first Gdynia Film Festival. The event promotes Polish cinematography and shows the most recent Polish productions. The most interesting films and debuts compete over Golden Lions and Silver Lions as well as lots of other awards. Those prizes are among the most wanted awards in the Polish film industry. More than 45,000 viewers participate in screenings, meetings and other events. However, the number of those attending grows every year. All movies in the Main Competition have English subtitles, so the festival is a very good opportunity to get to know Polish culture and Polish film industry.
Program of the Festival
The program consists of 4 sections, however the best known and the most important is the Main Competition. The Jury will judge 17 films and decide which one deserves the Golden Lions award. Location
During the event you can go to 3 different locations. The Musical Theatre is the centre of the festival where the Main Competition screenings, author meetings as well as the opening and the closing ceremonies take place. It is worth mentioning that the Festival reception desk is next to the entrance of the Theatre. You can also visit 2 cinemas – Multikino and Gdynia Film Centre.
