In the 25th round of 2018/19 season of Lotto Ekstraklasa (Polish Extra League), Arka Gdynia will play a home match against current title holder – Legia Warsaw.
Lotto Ekstraklasa is the highest Polish football league. There are 16 teams playing within the league. Each team plays 37 games during the season. The league exists since 1919. The current champion of the highest Polish league is Legia Warsaw, which has won the title 13 times.
Arka Gdynia SSA
In 1929, 3 years after Gdynia obtained city rights, a football team named KS Gdynia came to existence. At first, KS Gdynia was a sports club for work class. In 1952 the word “ARKA” entered the name of the club.
Many citizens of Gdynia proudly support Yellow&Blues. The club won the Polish Cup in 1979 and in 2017. Also won the Super Polish Cup in 2017 and 2018. With this, they are the most entitled football club in northern Poland. The highest place in the top Polish league Arka gained in 1978 when they ended up at the 7th place, however, in previous season they ended up at 12th place.
Arka Gdynia plays at the city stadium in Gdynia. The stadium is at Olimpijska street, which is close to Redłowo SKM train station. The stadium has a capacity of more than 15.000 people and has a 3 stars UEFA rating.
The tickets for matches cost from around 18 PLN to 120 PLN (VIP ticket) for adults. Kids up to 4 years old enter matches for free. There are also discounts for kids and teenagers under the age of 18. The tickets are 5 PLN more expensive on the match day.
