16 best national teams in Europe will be competing in Euro-championships in volleyball in Poland from August 25th to September 3rd 2017. Matches will take place in 4 host-cities: Gdansk (Ergo Arena), Szczecin (Azoty Arena), Katowice (Spodek) and Krakow (Tauron Arena).

Eurovolley for the second time in Poland

This will be the second time when Poland is organizing Men’s European Volleyball Championships. Last time the event was co-organized with Denmark in 2013. Polish national team played in Ergo Arena too, but ended games at 9th place.

The best team in Europe will play in Gdansk!

At Ergo Arena we will be able to see only the group round, but it is already known that Polish national team will play here. This time there are high expectations toward their performance in championships. According to the latest FIVB ranking, Poland is the best European men’s volleyball team.

Teams and draw

16 teams will play in Men’s European Volleyball Championships 2017: Poland (host), Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Turkey. For now, the only information known is that Poland will play in group A, having their matches in Gdansk. The official draw of groups will take place at November 15th.

Ergo Arena

Ergo Arena is a huge, multi-purpose indoor arena. It has a capacity of up to 11,409 people during sport events. The arena hosted such events as 2014 IAAF World Indoor Championships, 2014 Volleyball Men’s World Championships and 2016 European Men’s Handball Championship. On daily basis, Ergo Arena is a place where the best Volleyball and Basketball teams from Tricity play their matches. It also hosts concerts and cultural events.
