There are many opportunities to enjoy days off in 2019. The calendar for 2019 has some 30 bank holidays and seven long weekends in store for us. As a result, with good planning, one can rest up to 140 days. Let’s see how to plan holidays to get the most of this year.

140 days of rest

All weekends in 2019 will give us 104 days off. Additionally, the calendar has 13 bank holidays for us. Ten of those days are during the weekdays, which gives 114 days off for everyone. Adding well arranged holidays in amount of 20-26 days depending on your job, one can have up to 140 days off during 2019.

Winter and Spring

January the 1st, which is a day off work is on Tuesday this year. As a result, those who took 31st off could enjoy the first long weekend of the year. The Three Kings Day is scheduled for Sunday, January the 6th.

This year, the Easter break comes a bit later. The Easter Sunday is going to take place on the 21st of April and the Easter Monday is a day after. As a result, one does not need to take any additional days off to rest for three days.

The opportunity for one of the longest breaks in 2019 is going to happen in May. The Labor Day will be on Wednesday, May the 1st and the Constitution Day is two days later, on Friday. Thanks to this, if you take three days off, you are going to have 9 days off work.

The next long weekend is going to take place towards the end of June. The Corpus Christi holiday is scheduled for Thursday, June the 20th. This means that taking a day off work on Friday the 21st, gives us 4 days off.

 Second half of the year

There will be only one opportunity to have a long weekend during the summer. August the 15th is both the Day of Assumption of the Virgin Mary and the Armed Forces Day. This public holiday is going to be on Thursday, which gives an opportunity to prolong the weekend by taking a day off.

All Saints Day which is November the 1st is on Friday giving us a three-day weekend. The Independence Day, which is November the 11th will be on Monday, which results in the second long weekend in the month.

The last and the longest weekend of the year will come in December. Christmas days are on Wednesday and Thursday this year. As a result, the 25th and the 26th are bank holidays. It will be enough to take Friday off to enjoy five days off. If you will spare some more vacation days, you can rest for up to 12 days. Great option if you plan visiting your family or traveling in this period of time.

All the other 225 days of the year we will need to spend at work though. Plan in advance to enjoy 2019 and Tricity to the full. If you live in other parts of Poland, make sure to plan at least one of the long weekends visiting Gdansk, Sopot and Gdynia.
