On Thursday, Gdansk University of Technology hosted Career Day 2019. This event was a great opportunity for both students and employers to meet and get to know each other.
Career Day
It was the fourth edition of Career Day event at the Gdansk University of Technology. The organizers of the event – the Careers Office are focusing on helping international students to reach their potential employers. As a result, the whole event was in English and students from different lands could receive many practical information about their potential employment.
Big companies present
In line with the expectations, some of the biggest companies in the area arrived at the job fair. Well, known trademarks like Intel, State Street, Arla, or Wipro sent their representatives to the event.

“Career Day is a great opportunity to meet employers from the area” – said Ganesh Vivek Rajendran who studies Mechanical Engineering. The students did use the opportunity very well. Many of them came to the fairs and talked to potential employers.
Kenny, who studies Material Science and Nanotechnology said: “Such events make job search very easy for students. It is good possibility to interact with the representatives of different companies.” This allows both sides to get to know their needs and expectations.
Needed consulting
An interesting highlight of the fairs were two tables where students could consult with specialists. There was an opportunity to consult a CV with an HR expert. Many used this chance to polish their resumes.
Additionally, both candidates and the employers could meet with representatives of the Pomeranian Voivodeship Office. The ladies were ready to answer the most difficult questions regarding the employment in Poland.
