Last Sunday Biale Lwy Gdansk played their semi-final of LFA9 against Jaguars Katy Wroclawskie in Gdansk. The Lions showed their good spirit as well as solid preparation and managed to dominate the opponent. As a result, they will represent Tricity in the national final of LFA9.
LFA9
Biale Lwy Gdansk currently compete in LFA 9 – a league of nine-man football under the trademark of American Football League. There are mainly developing teams at this level which don’t have a right amount of players to enter main competitions yet. The league consists of 13 teams playing in 4 groups. The best four teams advanced to semi-finals which took place last weekend.

Two teams faced each other on Sunday at noon. Everyone could feel the good atmosphere of an important competition in the air. The match started favorably for the guests. In the third attempt, Jaguars managed to get the ball into the end-zone opening the score. From that point, it was the team from Gdansk that dominated the match. Krzysztof Szlagowski, a star of the White Lions ended his run with a touchdown. After adding two points to the score the hosts were in front.
Right after the change of sides, Szlagowski got his second touchdown of the game. This underlined the domination of the hosts. Although the PAT didn’t give points, 14:7 was already a comfortable score at the scoreboard. This was not enough for the Lions who got one more touchdown at the end of the second quarter. Krzysztof Szlagowski took over PAT and the hosts could go for a break with a good 22:7 score.
Second half
The Lions didn’t allow their motivation to cool down. Jakub Klosowski opened the second half running into guests’ end-zone. Jaguars knew they need to chase the score, so they were playing more and more openly. As a result, Biale Lwy could point out guests’ mistakes scoring more and more points. Tomasz Kabat performed a good interception and Jakub Osowski brought touchdown with a 44-yard run.
At the beginning of the last quarter, the guests got their consolation points. The final part of the match got nervous and the referees had to send some players off. The match ended with a 34:15 result giving Biale Lwy Gdansk the final of LFA9.
LFA9 Final in Gdansk
In the other semi-final, Kings “B” Krakow won against Czestochowa Saints 6:46. The players from Cracow had no problems dominating their opponents and advanced easily.
The final between Biale Lwy Gdansk and Kings “B” Krakow will take place in Gdansk. The teams will face each other on Sunday, the 30th of September at noon. We are warmly inviting everyone to come, enjoy the great atmosphere and to support the team from Tricity.
