Arka Gdynia won against Bytovia Bytów 1:0 and will play in semifinal of the Polish Cup. It was an important win not only in connection with the cup, but also due to some nervousness that was recently visible within the club.
Despite initial troubles
The match began with a heart stroke for Arka’s fans as in 35th second Bytovia was close to score a goal. Fortunately for Yellow & Blues the ball hit the post. Arka reacted quickly, but Bozok’s shot was stopped by Bytovia’s defenders. In this part of the game Abbott, Bozok, Hofbauer and Da Silva kept Bytovia’s goalkeeper busy with their attempts on goal. Bytovia had their chance in 24th minute but Klichowicz missed. Arka kept trying, but the first half ended with a goalless draw.
Second half for Arka
Arka had a Chance to score a goal at the beginning of the second half but Siemaszko wasn’t fast enough and Bytovia’s goalkeeper caught the ball. Bytovia realized that the goalless result was enough for them to go through to the semifinal that’s why they were focused on stopping Arka’s attacks. The club from Gdynia was determined though to win the game, and in 76th minute they achieved their goal. Dominik Hofbauer scored his first goal for Arka. The result 1:0 promoted Arka to the next round of the Polish Cup and Yellow & Blues managed to keep the result to the end of the match. After todays matches: Wisła Kraków-Lech Poznań and Wigry Suwałki-GKS Jastrzębie we will know the final four of the Polish Cup. The opponent of Arka Gdynia will be known after today’s draw.

The next game Arka will play on December the 5th in Chorzów, where the team will play against Ruch Chorzów. This will be due to the 18th round of Lotto Ekstraklasa. Both teams met in the 3rd round of this season in Gdynia. Arka won that home game 3:0. Will they be able to repeat the success this time?
