Exchanging blows
On Tuesday evening both teams exchanged blows throughout the game, but Wisla were more effective in their attacks. The hosts lacked the finishing touches.
Early goal
In 16th minute after a smart pass from Jose Kante, Arkadiusz Reca defeated Steinbors with a nice shot from a distance. Arka were trying to threaten Wisla’s goal with fast counterattacks, but Wisla’s defense was wide-awake and kept on restraining Arka’s attempts. In 31st minute players from Plock had a great chance to increase the lead, but Pavels Steinbors showed a good interference. Right before the break Wisla had another chance to score but, fortunately for Arka Gdynia, Miroslav Bozok standing on the goal line saved Arka from losing 2nd goal.
Second Half
In the second half Arka were trying to get through Wisla’s defense quite often, but their attempts were ineffective. Wisla could have scored at least 2 more goals but Arka’s goalkeeper was instinctively defending all of their shots. In 77th minute Siemaszko was in a 1 on 1 situation with Wisla’s goalkeeper, but he was waiting too long with the shot and he did not manage to score a goal. In the extra time Michal Marcjanik received a second yellow card and had to leave the pitch.
Difficult situation
Arka Gdynia with 20 points are currently on the 7th place in the relegation group, having 3 points more than 8th Ruch Chorzow. Next match Arka are playing in Wroclaw against Slask, which with 20 points is on the 6th place. The winner of this match will make a huge step towards staying in the LOTTO Ekstraklasa for the next season.
