Arka Gdynia lost against Lech Poznań 1:4 in the match of friendship in Gdynia.
Lech are unstoppable at the moment, after winning 5 matches in a row the speeding locomotive was not planning to stop in Gdynia. Arka Gdynia was another team who experienced the power of Lech’s bench. The substitutes from the match against Lechia Gdańsk, played leading roles in Gdynia. After only 5 minutes Maciej Gajos scored and Lech were leading 1:0. A few minutes later Darko Jevtić skipped past Arka’s defense with ease and scored the second goal for Lech. By the end of the first half Konrad Jałocha had to capitulate for the third time and Dawid Kownacki scored his 9th goal of the season.
Arka Gdynia kept on trying
Arka fans knew that with Lech being in such good shape it would be impossible to defeat them, But they kept on trying. In the 57th minute Rafał Siemaszko slipped through Lech’s defense and scored his 6th goal for Arka Gdynia this season. As a consolation for Arka’s fans – it was the first goal conceded by Lech in 2017. In 79th minute Marcin Robak scored the 4th goal for Lech. Arka lost 1:4 and with 30 points they are currently sitting in 11th place in the Ekstraklasa. Lech, on the other hand, are one of the favorites in the race to become Champion of Ekstraklasa this year.
Arka Gdynia are playing against 2 teams from the bottom of the Ekstraklasa table – on 18th of March in Gliwice against Piast (currently 15th place) and on 1st of April Arka will face Górnik Łęczna (currently 16th place) in Gdynia. Even with lower league opposition the Yellow & Blues should definitely not underestimate their opponents.
