Arka Gdynia looses in a tight game
Arka Gdynia lost against Jagiellonia Białystok 2:3 in the last match played in Gdynia this year.
Arka began the match very defensive and let Jagiellonia lead the game. After first 15 minutes Yellow&Blues finally came to the fore, gaining more and more confidence with each action. After a corner for Arka, Antoni Łukasiewicz scored a header goal and Arka was leading 1:0. Arka’s fans were not enjoying the winning score for long as Jagiellonia’s response was quick. 4 minutes later Cernych defeated Pavels Steinbors and it was 1:1. Arka was not planning on giving up which resulted in the second goal for Arka. This time Siemaszko found the way do defeat Jagiellonia’s goalkeeper and scored his 3rd goal for Arka this season. He had one more chance to score in the first half but Jagiellonia’s goalkeeper was in the right place this time.
Yellow&Blues might have scored the third goal at the very beginning of the second half, but Siemaszko missed. Arka was fighting and trying to score again but Jagiellonia’s defense efficiently destroyed Arka’s attacks. In 65th minute, after a free kick Jagiellonia scored and it was 2:2. After losing another goal Yellow&Blues were very ambitious and kept on trying to get 3 points. But it wasn’t enough as in 75th minute after a controversial decision of the referee, Jagiellonia got an indirect free kick in the penalty box. Vassiljev took the chance and scored the winning goal for Jagiellonia. Full of anger and determination Yellow&Blues didn’t stop trying to change the result, but neither Abbott nor Hoffbauer manage to defeat Kelemen and the result didn’t change. Arka’s fans and players couldn’t agree with the referee’s decision, which in their opinion took away their chances for a draw.
After this win Jagiellonia is again the leader of Ekstraklasa having the same amount of points as Lechia Gdańsk which is now on the second place. Both Arka and Lechia will play one more match this year. Players from Gdynia are going to Wrocław on Sunday to face Śląsk and try to win the last match of this round. White&Greens are going to Kielce to face Korona on Saturday and try to come back ot Tricity as a leader of Ekstraklasa.
