Substitute Siesmazko’s goal in the second half wasn’t enough to avoid another game without a win for Arka Gdynia. Yellow and Blues saw Korona score twice in the first half and take the three points.
A chance for the top half
Arka Gdynia recorded its fifth game without a win for Ekstraklasa after losing on Sunday at home to Korona Kielce 1:2. Yellow and Blues are now five points away from teams fighting for the championship.
Korona Kielce, comfortably in fourth in the Polish championship, got the advantage thanks to a header by Costa Rican Brown Forbes. The ball found his head after a corner in the 28th minute. Keeper Steinbors was unable to stop this well-directed header.
Gdynia’s team took no time to answer but Zarandia’s efforts were in vain. In the 31st minute, Georgian’s sprint ended with a weak shot easily deflected by keeper Miskiewicz. Four minutes later it was defender Gardawski that stopped an almost certain goal by Zarandia.
First half’s added time proved to be sour for Arka. Jankowski, well guarded by substitute
Second half
In the second half, Arka’s coach made the way for Aankour and Siemaszko in the 66th minute. Seven minutes later, Siemaszko was at the right place to shot to goal for the 1:2 after a good cross by Deja.
Arka, however, wasn’t able to produce anything more until the end of the match. The team from Gdynia is now five points away from Cracovia, currently eighth in the championship. On Saturday, Arka plays in Sosnowiec against Zaglebie, the last in Ekstraklasa.
