Arka Gdynia broke the bad patch

Arka Gdynia won in Chorzów against Ruch 2:1. After last win in Polish Cup Yellow & Blues wanted to prove their worth and finally win in Ekstraklasa.

Offensive play from the very beginning

They were playing very offensive which resulted in a corner for Arka. After that corner and cross from Dominik Hofbauer, Michał Marcjanik scored his first goal for Arka in Ekstraklasa. In 20th minute Marcus Da Silva was fouled and the referee dictated the penalty kick. Marcus Da Silva unhesitatingly defeated Ruch’s goalkeeper and scored his 7th goal for Arka this season. Arka’s defense didn’t let Ruch’s players to create any dangerous action and the first half ended with Arka deservedly leading 2:0.

Catch-up goal after the break

The second half began well for Ruch, after a free kick and Steinbors’s mistake Lipski scored a catch-up goal. After this goal Ruch took the initiative and was playing more boldly with each minute. Fortunately for Arka they weren’t able to defeat Steinbors for the second time. In the last second of the match Adrian Błąd could have scored another goal for Arka but he missed in a really good situation.

“We finally won”

It was Arka’s first win since 19th of September and Arka is now on the 9th place in the Ekstraklasa. At the press conference after the match coach Niciński said: ‘We finally won. After 8 rounds we finally got 3 points in a very important meeting. Both teams were in a difficult position. There were some mistakes in our game but we are happy with the win. We can breathe a little and we will do everything to earn more points in the upcoming matches.’.
The next match in Gdynia Arka is playing against Jagiellonia Białystok on Monday 12th of December at 6p.m.
