Arka Gdynia won with Slask Wroclaw and is now 8th in Ekstraklasa. As a result Yellow&Blue’s are nine points away from the new leader Legia Warszawa. Lechia Gdansk won at home against an almost inoffensive Wisla Plock by 3-0. The victory gave Gdansk’s team ninth place in championship, two points away from Arka.

Lechia Gdansk – Wisla Plock

On Saturday, Lechia Gdansk got its second victory in a row by winning at home Wisla Plock by 3-0. This allowed them to get to the ninth place in the Ekstraklasa with 20 points. The team from Gdansk is now two points away from Arka Gdynia.

Lechia Gdansk needed only three minutes to get their first goal. This happened with a good help from Wisla’s goal keeper who let the ball go after the home team’s attack. Marco Paixao profited from Seweryn Kielpin’s mistake and scored. At the 17th minute, after a cross by Marco Paixao, Krasic appeared totally unmarked in Wisla Plock’s box. He didn’t miss the chance, making the second goal for Lechia Gdansk, which totally dominated the match. At the end of first half, Portuguese forward Marco Paixao reappeared to make his 11th goal of the season. After a corner, Wojtkowiak served Marco Paixao that only had to take advantage from a Slask Wroclaw’s ineffective defense.

In the second half, Lechia Gdansk continued to be the sole leader of the game. What is more, they almost got the fourth goal after another mistake by Wisla’s defense at the 64th minute. This time, Marco Paixao could not beat Wisla’s keeper though. At the 72nd minute, another mistake of Wisla’s defense allowed Flavio Paixao to run unmarked towards the goal. However, Paixao gave one touch more than needed in the ball and could not score as the keeper managed to save. In the added time, Wisla Plock players managed to get a shot to Lechia’s goal. Dusian Kuciak easily managed to put the ball away with the foot.

Slask Wroclaw – Arka Gdynia

Arka Gdynia came back to winning terms on Sunday by beating away Slask Wroclaw by 1-2. Gdynia’s team victory allowed Arka to secure the last place within the top part of Ekstraklasa’s table.
Gdynia’s team got the advantage at the end of the first half with a goal by Antoni Lukasiewicz. The players celebrated a goal with an effective celebration dedicated to the newborn child of Sergei Krivets.

Seven minutes into the second half, Damien Zbozien managed to find himself unmarked in the middle of Slask Wroclaw defense. As a result of a free kick by Sergey Krivets, Zbozien made it 2-0. Arkadiusz Piech reduced Arka’s advantage at the 66th minute with a successful acrobatic kick. However ten minutes from time, Portuguese Pereira got expelled. That made the task to get a draw even more difficult for Slask Wroclaw

Next games

Next Friday, Lechia Gdansk will try to get their third victory in a row by taking Krakow away in the first game of Ekstraklasa’s 17th round. On Saturday, Arka Gdynia hosts Sandecja Nowy Sacz at home.
