The police are looking for witnesses of two assaults on women in Gdynia. Both took place on Friday in the early morning. The assailant attacked and raped a woman in Chylonia district. Just a few hours later another sexual assault took place in Oksywie. The police are suspecting that the same rapist committed both crimes.
Rapist on the loose
The police are investigating two crimes which took place in Gdynia last Friday. One of the victims published a description of the assailant on social media. According to the post, the attacker hit close to her home. He didn’t want to steal anything, but he definitely wanted to commit a sexual crime. The victim also wrote that she managed to defend herself, but the other woman in Chylonia wasn’t so lucky.
The local police department in Gdynia confirmed the statement to local, Polish media. They underlined, that they are investigating two cases of sexual assaults in the city. They do not confirm but also do not eliminate the possibility that it could have been the same person.
Description of the suspect
According to the victim’s post, the assailant was wearing grey and blue nylon jacket and a grey backpack. He had a hood on his head, but the victim was sure he had been bald or had very short, light hair. The suspect is about 170-180 cm high and approximately 25-30 years old.
The police investigate
In his conversation with Radio Gdansk, Commissioner Kusmierczyk said that the policemen from the criminal department are investigating both cases. They are now gathering facts, looking for witnesses and go through the surveillance. The commissioner also promised that the police are doing their very best to detain the suspect as soon as it will be possible.
