During the last two months we were very happy to share some announcements from Alter Art. At the end of October the fans received the first treat. Bruno Mars and Gorillaz became the first headliners of the upcoming festival. Shortly after that, in November, we received yet another breathtaking announcement. Depeche Mode became the third headliner of the festival. Today, we would like to summarize news from the previous week. Alter Art shared information about six new artists to perform during Open’er Festival 2018 in Gdynia.
Massive Attack
Massive Attack are a British group which dates back to the late 80’s. They debuted with their first album Blue Lines in 1991. They represent trip hop and received many awards like MTV Europe Music Awards, The Brit Award or Q Awards. The band has a lot of fans worldwide and they will definitely add to the atmosphere of this year’s festival.
An additional interesting fact is that there are many claims connecting one of the members – Robert Del Naja with graffiti artist Banksy. Will we see another piece of artwork on the streets of Tricity this summer?
Fleet Foxes
The American band originating from Seattle represents indie folk. They begun their career as a group in 2006. However it was their debut album Fleet Foxes which helped them to reach popularity. They stand out thanks to delivering something different than all the other bands. Their peaceful compositions including traditional American folk music gather many fans at their concerts. We are looking forward to hearing them during Open’er Festival 2018.
David Byrne
We all know the legendary band Talking Heads. This is also how we mainly know David Byrne. He was the leader of the famous American band. However his musical contribution is much bigger. Throughout the years he focused on collaborations cooperating with Fatboy Slim, Brian Eno and many others. He definitely is an artist who can show many faces. We are curious what he will present in Gdynia this summer.
MØ
She’s a young, Danish singer, songwriter and music producer. She represents electropop however is known for also as a synth-pop and indie pop artist. MØ debuted in 2014 with her album No Mythologies to Follow. Despite her relatively short career, she won a total of 17 awards including Billboard Music Award. The artist is currently working on her second album, which releases in 2018.
Kaleo
Iceland comes to present one of their national treasures in Gdynia. Kaleo is a relatively fresh project, as they begun their career in 2012. With their combination of rock, folk and blues they were climbing up the international music charts. Their song “No Good” gave them a nomination for Grammy Award. We are looking forward to seeing them performing at Open’er Festival 2018.
Sevdaliza
Sevda Alizadeh is an Iranian-Dutch singer, songwriter and producer. She performs under the name Sevdaliza. She is a very fresh artist, who debuted with her first album in April 2017. Her deep voice attracts many listeners around the world. Sevdaliza performs a mixture of trip hop, electronic, punk, grime and avantgarde.
Tickets for Open’er Festival
The second group of special price tickets – Early Bird tickets is sold out. Now the fans can buy regular tickets available until June 10th 2018.
4-day ticket costs 579 PLN, while the option with camping is for 659 PLN. The fans can also buy weekend tickets for 399 PLN (459 PLN with camping) or day tickets for 259 PLN.
Children between 3 and 12 enter with 50% discount and those under 3 years old enter for free.
